My grace is sufficient

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Cor 12: 9-10

I was feeling a bit low today…actually, a little sorry for myself, so I forced myself to get up and go out for a walk, despite the cold wind.

I wandered around roads in my neighbourhood that I’ve never walked down before. People politely stepped off the pavement to avoid me or I crossed the road to give them space. It would have been easy to dwell on the sense of isolation but instead, I made a decision to come in the opposite spirit and I started to pray.

I asked God to bless and protect everyone I passed. I prayed in tongues. I read aloud the names of each street I walked down and prayed for God’s presence to fill the homes as I passed them and blessings on the families and individuals who lived there. I released angels as I went along. I prayed for God’s kingdom to come in those places and for my presence there to change the spiritual atmosphere.

I smiled at people and they smiled back. They spoke to me. By the time I arrived home, I felt a whole lot better.

If you’re feeling pushed back and wondering what you can offer, turn it on its head. You can pray and be a blessing, wherever you are and however you’re feeling if you make a decision to do so.

Father, thank you that your power is made perfect in my weakness. Thank you that you can do immeasurably more than I can ask or imagine according to your power at work within me. I confess my weakness but I proclaim your greatness. Thank you that you can use me to be a blessing and to usher in your kingdom in this place and for this time.
