Waiting and Witnessing. We continue our journey through Acts. Tonight Tom looks at Acts 5 and the importance of obeying God not people.

Sanctuary on Sunday looks at what happens when Christians get locked up (not locked down). Does that shut them up? What do you think? If you’re feeling a bit down or bruised by the world, be cheered by Jeremiah who is thrown down into a muddy pit and the apostles who get a flogging. The Holy Spirit has be poured out on all people and now someone has to explain it. So Peter stands and begins the first gospel presentation of the many that would define the early church. Tom Peryer will be unpacking the passage in Acts 2 for us under the theme of the Witness of Jesus. Let's posture ourselves to be filled again.

This week we will be looking at Acts 2:14-40 and how we are all called to be witnesses of Jesus. There will be a wide variety of songs, including a Singaporean Choir, a Northern Irish take on an old classic, a beautiful acoustic version of a well-known chorus from Lizard Point and a get up and go song from the Watoto Children’s Choir. We continue in the second week of our new teaching series, ‘Waiting and Witnessing’. This week Tom will be speaking on “reeled in” as Jesus prepare breakfast for the disciples.

Sanctuary service this week is about breakfast on the beach! Everyone is very welcome! This is the 6th Sunday of the Easter season and we have some great hymns and songs to sing. We’re in a series entitled “Waiting and Witnessing”. Tom Peryer will be preaching this week on “Reeling in”. Our reading and prayers will be led by Elizabeth and Gerald Bennett and Pippa will be leading us through the service.

It is the 4th Sunday in Lent, which is Mothering Sunday. Tom Peryer will be speaking in our “Crossed Over” series, on the subject of Reconciliation. Our Sanctuary service will have a theme of love and special prayers for Mothering Sunday. Readings will be provided by Diane Haines and Robert Page and Tony Haines will be leading our prayers. Pippa will lead us through the service, and there will be some great music!

Well Lockdown no.3 is here and so we have taken the difficult decision to close the church again. While can still legally meet, it does not seem like the right thing to do.
