Our response to Covid 19
The B&NES response to the virus is being coordinated by the new Compassionate Community Hub, which is now operating from a large office in Peasedown St John. A public hotline will be launched during this coming week for all requests for help from people in the whole of B&NES.
These requests will be recorded at the Compassionate Community Hub, and then passed on to other local organisations as appropriate (charities, Council departments, local hubs) with every request being tracked until it is completed.
Future Weston is the local hub for the Weston area.
There is an ongoing call for volunteers, to help our neighbours on our streets. The main help that will be required will be doing shopping and keeping in regular contact with people who are vulnerable or self isolating. Requests for help will come to local volunteers via the central and local hubs, and also from just making contact with your neighbours.
Guidelines on how to do shopping safely will be issued.
If you are able to volunteer, then please do so here
We will then put the volunteers on each street in touch with each other.
If there is a group already in your street, please could you let Future Weston know, by email.
